Biewer Sawmill-Newton, LLC celebrated its new, state-of-the-art sawmill in Newton, Miss. with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, April 11th. The Newton Sawmill will produce an estimated at 250 MMBF annually, with a focus on dimensional lumber and timbers. With this new production, the mill will allow Biewer Lumber to expand mill production in the south, in an area with abundant fiber supply with strong support from both local and state government, the company said.

Company President Tim Biewer, Gov. Phil Bryant and other state and local political representatives were among around 100 people attending a ceremony at the facility, which began operating in December, The Meridian Star reported.
